What is the Best Diet 2011?

Let’s Face it, Nobody Really Enjoys Dieting but…. Which is The Best Diet 2011? With All the Fad Diets Out There it’s Hard to Know Which one of them is The Best Diet 2011. Especially for Your Eating Style and Body Type.

The Dukan Diet is a top popular choice for The Best Diet 2011, particularly in France Where it originated. Its’ primary function is to shift you to a high protein intake with small amounts of oat bran and plenty of water in the first part known as the “Attack Phase”.

The second part or “Cruise Phase” is similar with a strict low fat meat intake alternating days with both meat and vegetables. You stay in the “Cruise Phase” until you reach your ideal weight as long as needed.

In part three of the Diet known as the “Consolidation Phase” you look to maintain your attained weight with some variations to the previous phase.

Finally in the last phase you are able to have more freedom in your food choices but still within the guidelines of phase three.

The 17 Day Diet Has Three Phases

Another popular choice for The Best Diet 2011 is the 17 Day Diet which is similar to the Dukan Diet in that it consists of 3 main phases and then a maintenance phase, but the similarities end there.

The 17 Day Diet focuses on calorie counting and calorie shifting with a nicely varied menu as compared to strictly high protein intake diets like Atkins or the Dukan Diet which have a heavy consumption of meats.

Perhaps The Best Diet 2011 is the ever popular Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. Both are great and work well for those who enjoy the comforts of a support group/personal counselor and the convenience of the prepared foods, if you can afford the $600/mo. or so hefty price tag.

For those who choose to do it on their own, one of the Best Diet 2011 is Fat Loss For Idiots, which basically is a calorie shifting cycle program similar to The 17 Day Diet. It tricks your body into losing weight by avoiding plateauing and the typical problems of the
starvation diets…being, once you start eating again the body just starts storing all the food to protect itself from starvation creating more of a weight problem.

The Fat Loss For Idiots plan uses an online meal generator which creates the meals for you and costs under $50. Also, the plan allows you to eat many of your favorite foods on its’ 11 day cycle.

Mediterranean Diets Offer Varitety

Perhaps The Best Diet 2011 is the New Sonoma Diet which is based on the Mediterranean Diet. It’s rich in lots of vegetables, olive oil, fish, bread, pasta, and grains with small amounts of fish and poultry. In addition a little bit of Red Wine is allowed.

The New Sonoma Diet eliminates calorie counting but instead creates meals of moderate portions. The diet plan designates certain foods as “power foods” like almonds, bell peppers, broccoli, blueberries, spinach, olive oil and whole grains. It also utilizes an online meal planner and encourages a very well balanced approach to dieting that is popular with people who enjoy gourmet cooking.

Maybe the Best Diet 2011 would include the Ornish Diet which is basically a complete vegetarian diet naturally void of all meat. It’s a diet very low in any fat including non-fat dairy, and avoids processed foods, sugar and alcohol and is particularly favored by those with any heart disease.

The Eat Stop Eat could be the Best Diet 2011. This diet allows you to eat what you like as long as you maintain a calorie deficit at the end of the day. It also focuses on intermittent fasting one to two times per week and is very effective in losing weight quickly.

There are obviously so many diets out there claiming to be # 1 it’s hard to know which is the right one for you. I have chosen a few of the Best Diet 2011 that are the most popular and effective but the bottom line on dieting is that there is not a the Best Diet 2011 that will fit everyone’s food habits, or eating styles. Which ever you choose should match your lifestyle.

Starvation Type Diets Are Not Healthy

The starvation diets of the past are simply not a healthy and effective choice any longer, although they can get short term results. The calorie shifting and calorie counting diets are more effective as they are designed to avoid the dieting plateaus.

One of my favorites for The Best Diet 2011 is the Mediterranean Style of good quality eating and cooking combined to make dieting more of a positive experience than a food restriction.

The Dukan and Atkins Diets, although different, still consume heavy quantities of meats and not enough vegetables and salads. While they may be the Best Diet 2011 for many, they are not what I consider healthy for the body long term.
